Morning Message

Good Morning! Today is Thursday, October 22, 2009.
Day 32 of School, 148 days left
Tiger Day: I

Today is Sam’s Birthday! Unfortunately, he can’t be with us because he’s still getting over the flu. I was thinking that we could send him a “Happy Birthday” email to help cheer him up. What do you think?

This morning we will be compiling our Virginia Studies Inquiry binders. We will need to make a table of contents for each section. I’ve got section dividers prepared for the first three: Virginia Geography, First Virginians, and Jamestown. At the end of each quarter you will receive a grade on how well you keep your binder. The grade will be based on the quality of the work contained in your binder, neatness, and consistency in the table of contents. You will be able to use your binder to study for future tests and it will be a record of everything we learn in Virginia Studies this year. So it’s a very important assignment!

To-Do List:
  1. Complete your morning routine! Don’t forget about snack!
  2. On your desk is your Inquiry: Virginia Studies binder with many whole-punched materials that we’ve been working on since the beginning of school. Carefully add all of these materials to your binder, keeping them in order. When you are done, just close up your binder and leave it out.
  3. Next, grab the next poem to add to our collection from Ms. B’s desk. Glue it down and practice it with a friend.
