• Number each problem.
• Skip at least 3 lines between each problem. Do NOT pre-number your paper. You don't know how much pace you will need!
• Tonight's assignment is MUCH tougher! But you can do it!
• If you get stuck, no worries... Move on to the next one. We'll talk about the tougher ones tomorrow.
• Here's some help with #1 to get you started.

Paige put 20 flowers in a vase on the table. Two-tenths are yellow roses. How many yellow roses are in the vase?

Draw a picture. Imagine that each of these Xes below are flowers.

That's 20 Xes!

How can I divide up those 20 into 10 parts? Well.. Take a look at this:

I've put them into groups of 2. How many groups are there? That's right, 10! I've divided up the total into tenths!

So if 2/10 of the flowers are yellow, that would be 2 groups out of the 10. So how many individual roses is that?

Hello 4th Graders!

• Your first priority is writing-- your writing pieces will be the focus of your 3rd quarter report card and we have such cool things planned for them... We're going to publish a book AND change the world!
• Make good choices and use your time wisely. Remember you can access the activities below at ANY TIME from home. On the other hand, today is the last opportunity to make improvements and polish your writing before the end of the quarter. We'll have a little bit more time with Ms. Bragg this afternoon too so please DON'T stress!
• Those of you who have worked on writing on a computer at home can find your edited pieces inside a folder called “REVISED AT HOME” inside the Bragg Saving folder.
• If there are still improvements to be made to your writing pieces, use this time to work.
• QUIET is required so that those who are writing can do their best work. Those who are too loud will be asked to shut down their computer & fetch a book to read in the hallway.
• If you feel you have gone as far as you can go with your writing, please follow the to-do list below.

1. If you haven't already, try to complete Mission US 1.
2. If you've completed Mission 1, move on to Mission 2. REMEMBER: Write your login information in your agenda.
3. If you've completed both, you may practice on Type to Learn or have free time in the following portaportal folders: Math> Fractions, Math> Decimals, Virginia Studies> VA: American Revolution/Revolutionary War

Here's your to-do list. Be sure to follow the time guidelines.

1. Decimal Place Value Study Jam (make sure that you do Watch Out!, Try It, and Test Yourself)
2. Place Value Strategy (at lest 3 minutes)
3. Decimals Beat the Clock (at least 5 minutes)
4. Place Decimals on a Number Line
5. Place Value Pirates (at least 5 minutes)
6. Brain Pop: Battleship Numberline (at least 5 minutes)-- CHOOSE DECIMALS!

When you finish the above, you can have free time in the Fractions and Decimals Folders on portaportal.
