What are high and low pressure systems? And what kinds of weather do they bring?
What's an "isobar" and what do they mark?
How do the isobars show how windy it will be?
What's a front and how are they marked on a weather map? How are cold and warm fronts differentiated?

HOMEWORK:

1. Watch at least 2 short videos for the links above. Then write for at least 10 minutes in your School Journal about what you're looking forward to and what you expect to see and do on our fieldtrip.
2. Revisit the Jamestown/Yorktown Guidelines and make sure you understand and remember it all! Also, you can print out a new copy of the get-ready checklist if you need one.
3. Watch at least 1 Jamestown "Digital Story," a video made up of still images and narration, so that you have some idea of the project you'll be starting next week. You'll find the VA Studies> VA: Jamestown> Jamestown Fieldtrip Digital Stories.

As we approach World Education Days next week, we're asking ourselves, if World Math Day doesn't start until the 6th, then how come I can start competing here on the 5th? It all has to do with the spinning of the Earth! Check out this animation which helps to explain.
